Hundreds of Charges Filed After OPP Seize Guns and Drugs in Tyendinaga, Ont. Raid

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid over 500 charges following a significant raid at a home in Tyendinaga, Ontario, on May 24, 2024. The operation resulted in the seizure of nearly 100 firearms and substantial quantities of drugs.

During the raid, officers discovered a large cache of weapons, including handguns, long guns, and loaded firearms, some of which had been reported stolen. Photographs released by the OPP show rows of rifles, shotguns, pistols, and a revolver found in a vehicle’s glove compartment.

The search also uncovered roughly 200 grams of suspected cocaine, over a kilogram of suspected methamphetamine, and approximately 2,000 grams of suspected MDMA. Additionally, heroin, psilocybin, a large quantity of pills, ammunition, Canadian cash, and items indicative of drug trafficking were seized.

The arrests and seizures were carried out by officers from two area detachments and three specialized OPP teams, including the canine unit and the East Region Tactics and Rescue unit, at a Thrasher Road address in Tyendinaga, located east of Belleville.

Four individuals face a total of 508 charges, which include 100 counts of possession of a firearm without a licence, 68 counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and multiple counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.
