Brampton Launches Exciting ‘Summer in the City’ Program Filled with Festivals, Sports and Family Fun

BRAMPTON – Residents and visitors are being invited to make the most of the summer season as the City of Brampton launches its annual Summer in the City program, offering a wide range of festivals, cultural celebrations, sports activities, entertainment, outdoor adventures, and family-friendly experiences across the community.

The initiative aims to showcase Brampton’s vibrant spirit, diverse culture, recreational opportunities, and growing reputation as a destination for entertainment and tourism. Throughout the summer months, parks, public squares, recreation facilities, and neighbourhood spaces across the city will come alive with activities designed to engage residents of all ages.

From outdoor movie nights and farmers’ markets to live music performances, sporting events, splash pads, community festivals, and cultural celebrations, Summer in the City promises to offer something for everyone. City officials say the program is designed to encourage residents to explore their community, support local businesses, and enjoy Brampton’s many attractions close to home.

A major highlight of this year’s celebrations is the continued excitement surrounding soccer and the FIFA World Cup. Through the Experience Brampton campaign “Where the Game Grows,” residents will have opportunities to participate in soccer-themed activities, fan experiences, movie nights, and public viewing events celebrating Canada’s growing influence in international soccer.

The city is also highlighting its strong connection to Canadian soccer through local stars such as Cyle Larin, Jonathan Osorio, Tajon Buchanan, Promise David, Jayden Nelson, Doneil Henry, and Canadian soccer legend Atiba Hutchinson, all of whom have ties to Brampton.

Adding to the excitement, Brampton will host one of the final stops of the Canada Celebrates FIFA World Cup 2026™ Community Activation on July 18 and 19 at Garden Square. The free event will feature live match screenings, interactive soccer activities, fan engagement opportunities, entertainment, and community celebrations designed to bring together residents and visitors from across the region.

The city’s summer calendar also includes several signature events that have become annual favourites. Canada Day celebrations on July 1 are expected to draw large crowds, while the popular Brampton Farmers’ Market will operate every Saturday through October. The Mount Pleasant Village Night Market returns throughout the summer, offering local food, entertainment, and artisan vendors.

Downtown Brampton will once again serve as a hub of activity with outdoor concerts, patio performances, and movie screenings hosted at Garden Square and The Rose Theatre. Residents can also enjoy Movies Under the Stars and Friday Night Live performances throughout the season.

Sports enthusiasts will find plenty to enjoy as well, with cricket tournaments, community sports festivals, and Hockey Night in Brampton among the featured attractions. These events reflect Brampton’s growing profile as a major centre for sport tourism and community athletics.

Outdoor recreation remains a key component of the summer program. Residents can cool off at splash pads and water features, explore hundreds of kilometres of trails, enjoy sports fields and parks, and participate in recreation programs for children, youth, adults, and seniors.

Popular destinations such as Chinguacousy Park, Professor’s Lake, and Peel Village Golf Course are preparing for another busy season. Professor’s Lake is expected to reopen its beach, boathouse, and inflatable water park later this month, while additional aquatic and recreational facilities across the city will open as summer conditions permit.

City officials say Summer in the City reflects Brampton’s commitment to creating opportunities for residents to stay active, connect with their neighbours, celebrate cultural diversity, and enjoy high-quality recreational experiences. With dozens of events and activities scheduled throughout the season, Brampton is positioning itself as one of the GTA’s most vibrant summer destinations.

Residents are encouraged to explore local parks, attend community events, discover new attractions, and take advantage of the many opportunities available as Summer in the City unfolds across Brampton over the coming months.
