A 78-year-old man has been charged in connection with the alleged repeated sexual assault of a girl under 12 at a Brampton park, and police are urging the public to come forward with any additional information.
Peel Regional Police say the alleged assaults took place on three separate occasions earlier this month at Giffen Family Park, located near Bramalea Road and Larkspur Road.
The accused, Harmohinder Singh, was arrested on May 8 and is facing three counts each of sexual assault and sexual interference. The charges have not yet been proven in court.
Police have released limited details to protect the identity and privacy of the young victim. They are now appealing to the public for assistance, stating that there could be additional victims who have not yet come forward.
“We take these matters extremely seriously,” police said in a statement. “Anyone with information is urged to contact the Special Victims Unit or Crime Stoppers anonymously.”
