U.S. Powerball Jackpot Soars to Estimated $643 Million

The U.S. Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $643 million after no winning ticket was drawn on Monday night. The growing prize, up from $605 million earlier in the week, is now the 13th largest in the lottery’s history and the biggest so far in 2025.

The jackpot has been rolling over since May 31, with no player matching all the winning numbers. According to preliminary data from the Multi-State Lottery Association, ticket sales are up 40 per cent compared with this time last year, and are expected to rise further as the prize grows.

Despite the mounting excitement, the odds of winning remain slim, at about one in 292 million. The eventual winner will have the option of receiving the full amount spread over 30 annual payments or taking a one-time lump sum estimated at $290 million.
