A night of celebration, culture and generosity delivered another major boost for local health care as the William Osler Health System Foundation announced that its 13th Annual Holi Gala – Festival of Colours raised more than $977,000 in support of Osler hospitals.

The sold-out event took place on April 11 at Pearson Convention Center and drew more than 850 guests, including community leaders, business supporters and donors from across the region.

Funds raised will support hospitals within the William Osler Health System, including Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General Hospital and Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness.

The evening featured high-energy entertainment, gourmet dining and a live performance by Punjabi music star Amrit Maan, who helped keep the crowd energized throughout the celebration.

Returning for a fifth consecutive year as presenting sponsor was BVD Group. CEO Bikram Dhillon said the company was proud to continue supporting an event that brings the community together for such an important cause.

Dr. Frank Martino said the funds raised will help drive innovation in health care, support new medical advancements and improve patient outcomes across the region.

Shelagh Barry thanked donors, sponsors, volunteers and attendees, saying their generosity is helping build the future of care, including Brampton’s second hospital and the redevelopment of Peel Memorial.
