Five Arrested, Over 50 Charges Laid in Halton Police’s Project Regal Investigation
A series of police raids in Brampton, Oakville, and Toronto have led to the arrest of five individuals, the seizure of firearms, drugs, and bulletproof vests, and more than 50 charges laid, Halton Regional Police announced Friday.
The raids, conducted between February 8 and February 10, were part of Project Regal, an ongoing investigation aimed at dismantling a large-scale drug trafficking network that authorities say originated in Oakville and Brampton
11 kilograms of cocaine
- Three ounces of fentanyl
- Half a kilogram of methamphetamines
- Two loaded handguns, including one with an extended magazine
- Two Kevlar bulletproof vests
- Approximately $250,000 in cash
- A re-vinned BMW (a vehicle with a tampered Vehicle Identification Number)
Authorities say the seizures represent a significant disruption to an organized criminal network operating in multiple regions.
Police have identified the five suspects as:
- Tristan Bonnick, 33 (Brampton)
- Shaun Homem, 37 (Brampton)
- Brendon Rego, 30 (Brampton)
- Joseph Campbell, 31 (Orangeville)
- Damion Rego, 31 (Orangeville)
All five are facing multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. They remain in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
