Ontario NDP Nominates Martin Singh for Brampton East in 2025 Provincial Election

The Ontario NDP has officially nominated Martin Singh as its candidate for Brampton East in the upcoming provincial election on February 27, 2025. Singh, a licensed pharmacist and a partner in a care facility company, brings a strong background in healthcare and community service to his candidacy.

With experience in both Ontario and Nova Scotia, Singh has been an advocate for environmental protection and reproductive rights at the national level. He has served on the boards of the Sierra Club of Canada and Planned Parenthood Federation of Canada, working to advance policies that support sustainable development and healthcare access.

Beyond his professional career, Singh has been deeply involved in the Brampton community, particularly in youth engagement. He previously served as commander of the 557 Lorne Scots, Brampton’s only army cadet corps, where he played a pivotal role in youth development. Under his leadership, the 557 Lorne Scots became the largest Duke of Edinburgh Award centre in Canada, earning Singh a Commanding Officer’s Commendation from the Army General in charge of all cadets nationwide.

With the Ontario election fast approaching, Singh’s nomination adds momentum to the NDP’s campaign in Brampton East, a key battleground riding in the province. As he steps into the race, Singh is expected to focus on youth opportunities, healthcare access, and community-driven policies, aligning with the NDP’s platform.

As Brampton East voters prepare to head to the polls, Singh’s nomination positions him as a strong contender in a riding that has been a highly contested political landscape in recent elections. The Ontario NDP will be looking to solidify its support in the region, banking on Singh’s experience, community ties, and advocacy work to resonate with voters.

With just weeks to go until Election Day, the campaign in Brampton East is set to heat up as candidates make their final push for support.
