Giant Tiger Stores Ltd. revealed that contact information for some customers was compromised in an incident linked to a third-party vendor.
Alison Scarlett, a Giant Tiger spokesperson, declined to name the vendor but stated that the retailer uses them for customer communications.
The breach, discovered in March, exposed customer data including names, email addresses, and phone numbers. Affected customers were notified and advised to be cautious of potential fraudulent communications.
Giant Tiger assured customers that no payment information or passwords were compromised.
The company is working to resolve the issue and has notified the privacy commissioner.
