Free Dental Clinics Return Across Ontario — Book Now Before Spots Fill Up

Dental health is essential to overall well-being, but for many low- and moderate-income individuals without insurance, proper care remains out of reach. In an effort to close that gap, Ontario dentist Dr. Raj Khanuja is once again offering 10 days of free dental services through his Castlemore Dental clinics across southern Ontario, beginning this May.

Eligible patients will receive professional cleanings—including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatment—as well as a tooth-coloured filling for one tooth or a simple extraction. The services are offered at no cost to the community, but appointments are required in advance at participating locations.

“We recognize the connection between oral health and overall health,” said Dr. Khanuja in a statement. “And we understand that financial limitations often prevent people from getting the care they need. This initiative reflects our belief that everyone deserves access to essential dental care.”

The campaign, known as Doing Positive in My Backyard, has been running since 2012 and has provided over $360,000 worth of free dental services. In recognition of his efforts, Khanuja received the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship earlier this year.

“This is a community-driven movement,” he said. “It’s about accessibility and compassion—and I hope it inspires others in the dental field to do the same in their own neighbourhoods.”

The program’s next free clinic takes place Monday, May 5 in Orangeville and continues monthly through February 2026, with stops in Fergus, Mississauga, Hillsburgh, Scarborough, Brampton, and more. Appointments can be booked directly with each clinic.

If you’re unable to attend one of the free clinic days or your preferred location is fully booked, the federal government’s Canadian Dental Care Plan may also offer support. Currently, applications are open for seniors aged 65 and over, children under 18, and adults with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate. In May, the plan will expand to include eligible adults aged 18 to 64. Coverage must be renewed for the upcoming July 2025 to June 2026 period.
