The City of Brampton, in collaboration with the Canadian Polish Business Association, is set to host its first-ever Polish Heritage Month celebration this May.
Kicking off at 2 p.m. on May 10, the festivities will begin with a community flag-raising ceremony at Ken Whillans Square, located outside Brampton City Hall. Following the ceremony, guests are invited inside City Hall at 2 Wellington Street West for a reception featuring traditional Polish cuisine, cultural performances, and live entertainment.
The event is free and open to all members of the public. Organizers hope the celebration will offer a meaningful opportunity for residents to engage with the rich heritage and enduring contributions of the Polish community in Brampton and across Canada.
May is officially recognized as Polish Heritage Month in Canada, a time to honour the achievements, culture, and history of Canadians of Polish descent.
According to a statement from the city, the event reflects Brampton’s ongoing commitment to celebrating cultural diversity and strengthening community connections through inclusive events.
