Dion Phaneuf Joins Star-Studded Lineup for Mayor Patrick Brown’s Hockey Night in Brampton

Former Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf is set to lace up in Brampton next week for Mayor Patrick Brown’s Hockey Night in Brampton, happening Wednesday, August 20 at the CAA Centre. The annual charity event will raise funds for Brampton’s second hospital and promises an electric atmosphere with an all-star roster that includes Auston Matthews, Ryan Getzlaf, Curtis Joseph, Mark Giordano, Jeremy Roenick, Owen Nolan, and Owen Power.

Fans will have the rare chance to meet hockey legends before the puck drops, with free autograph signings included with a game ticket. Owen Nolan, Curtis Joseph, and Jeremy Roenick will sign at 6 p.m., followed by Darryl Sittler and Wendel Clark at 6:30 p.m., thanks to Presenting Meet and Greet Sponsor 407 ETR.

Tickets are $25 and available now at hockeynightbrampton.ca. Doors open at 6 p.m., with puck drop at 7 p.m. at the CAA Centre, 7575 Kennedy Rd. S.

Phaneuf, a native of Edmonton, was drafted ninth overall by the Calgary Flames in 2003 and went on to captain the Maple Leafs from 2010 to 2016. Known for his powerful shot and physical presence, he played 14 NHL seasons with Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, and Los Angeles, amassing 494 points in 1,048 games, earning three NHL All-Star selections and a spot on the 2005–06 NHL All-Rookie Team.

Mayor Patrick Brown praised Phaneuf’s addition, calling him “one of the toughest and most respected players in the NHL” whose leadership will add even more excitement to an already stellar night of hockey in support of a vital community cause.
