Brampton and Peel Region Honour First Responders on May 1

Today, on First Responders Day, the City of Brampton and the Region of Peel proudly recognize and honour the bravery, dedication, and sacrifice of our first responders. To our firefighters, paramedics, police officers, and emergency personnel – thank you for putting our community first, day in and day out. Your selfless service ensures a safer, stronger Brampton and Peel Region.

Peel Regional Police, Peel Regional Paramedic Services, and Brampton Fire & Emergency Services have all taken to social media to express their gratitude and highlight the importance of First Responders Day. Their messages underscore the unwavering commitment of those who serve on the front lines to protect our communities.

In a significant step towards supporting the mental health of our first responders, Peel Region Council recently approved the donation of a 38-acre parcel of land in Mono Mills for the development of Canada’s first Post-Traumatic Stress Injury (PTSI) Centre of Excellence. This facility will provide comprehensive mental health and rehabilitation treatment for first responders affected by work-related stress or trauma.

The City of Brampton and the Region of Peel extend heartfelt thanks to all first responders for their unwavering dedication and service. Your courage and commitment are the pillars of our community’s safety and well-being.
