Bollywood Stars Kapil Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, Remo D’Souza Receive Death Threats: Mumbai Police Ensures Security

Four prominent Bollywood celebrities—Kapil Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, Remo D’Souza, and Sugandha Mishra—have reportedly received death threats from an unknown sender. An FIR has been filed at the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai, and the matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness.

The death threat was sent via email by an individual identifying as ‘BISHNU,’ stating, “We are monitoring your recent activities and believe it is important to bring this to your attention. This is not a publicity stunt or an attempt to harass you. We urge you to treat this message with utmost seriousness and confidentiality.”

The email, dated December 14, 2024, also specifically targeted Kapil Sharma’s team, citing his show’s sponsorship by Salman Khan as a motive. Rajpal Yadav was reportedly the initial recipient of this email, prompting his wife, Radha Rajpal Yadav, to lodge an official complaint.

Mumbai Police have registered a case under Section 351 (3) of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, which pertains to threats of harm. The investigation has traced the email’s IP address to Pakistan, and officials are seeking government assistance for further correspondence with authorities across the border.

The email further warned of consequences on personal and professional fronts if a response was not provided within eight hours of its receipt.

Given the nature of the threat, the Mumbai Police have assured security coverage for the targeted celebrities. The authorities are actively investigating the matter to ensure the safety of the individuals involved and to bring the culprit to justice.

Kapil Sharma, one of India’s most beloved comedians, rose to fame with The Great Indian Laughter Challenge 3 and later achieved iconic status with shows like Comedy Nights with Kapil. His latest venture, The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix, has garnered significant attention, featuring a star-studded lineup of guests, including Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor.

Rajpal Yadav, a celebrated actor known for his impeccable comedic roles, recently appeared in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The film, directed by Anees Bazmee, featured an ensemble cast that included Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, and Madhuri Dixit.

Choreographer Remo D’Souza and actor-singer Sugandha Mishra are also widely acclaimed for their contributions to the Indian entertainment industry.

This incident highlights the rising concerns around the safety of public figures and the cross-border challenges involved in cyber threats. The authorities are determined to resolve the matter swiftly and ensure the security of all individuals involved.
