COLOURS OF FALL, JOY OF FRIENDSHIP: FCFC SENIORS CELEBRATE “HAPPY FALL Y’ALL – FALL IN LOVE”
Over 100 seniors come together in vibrant fall colours for an afternoon of Thanksgiving, Seniors’ Day, music, dance and friendship
BRAMPTON, October 4, 2026: Flower City Friends Club (FCFC) celebrated the beauty of the autumn season with its colourful “Happy Fall Y’all – Fall in Love” celebration at Paul Palleschi Recreation Centre, Brampton, bringing together over 100 senior members for an afternoon filled with friendship, music, dance, laughter and community spirit.
The hall reflected the warmth and beauty of the Canadian fall season as both men and women arrived dressed in vibrant autumn colours—shades of red, orange, yellow, gold and brown. With the changing leaves and cooler weather outside, the celebration provided seniors an opportunity to come indoors, reconnect with friends and enjoy the season together.

Opening the program, Gian Paul, Chairperson of Flower City Friends Club, welcomed the members and spoke about the special meaning of fall—a season of beautiful colours, gratitude, reflection and change.
“Fall reminds us that every season of life has its own beauty. For seniors especially, this is a wonderful time to appreciate our friendships, our families and the blessings we have received throughout our lives,” said Gian Paul.
He noted that the gathering was especially meaningful because FCFC was celebrating three occasions together—Thanksgiving, Seniors’ Day and the spirit of ‘Fall in Love.’

“Thanksgiving teaches us to be grateful, Seniors’ Day reminds us to recognize the wisdom and contribution of older adults, and ‘Fall in Love’ reminds us that there is no age limit for loving life, friendship, music, laughter and togetherness,” he added.
Following the opening remarks, Joyti Dadiala took over as Master of Ceremonies, conducting the program with enthusiasm, humour and energy.
Welcoming the members, she encouraged everyone to forget their age for a few hours and simply enjoy themselves. She remarked that FCFC gatherings are not only about entertainment but also about giving seniors a platform to express their talents, build friendships and remain socially active.

The entertainment program brought tremendous energy to the hall. Members enthusiastically participated in songs, solo dances and performances featuring evergreen Punjabi oldies, bringing back fond memories and encouraging the audience to sing and dance along.
Special performances were presented by Kamal Babra, Pushpinder Walia, Harmeet Kular, Balvinder Sandhu, Raminder Chauhan, Savinder Phull, and Joyti Dadiala and her group. Their performances were warmly appreciated and applauded by everyone present.
The celebration became even more lively with dance and energetic Giddha performances, demonstrating that age is never a barrier to enjoying music, culture and friendship.

A particularly touching moment of the program was the special recognition presented to senior members Bhupindra Mukkar and Renu Kohli. Their presence and participation were acknowledged with affection and respect, reflecting FCFC’s commitment to honouring its senior members and recognizing the important place they hold within the club family.
Regional Councillor Rowena Santos attended the celebration as the Chief Guest and received a warm welcome from FCFC members.
Addressing the gathering, Councillor Santos praised the seniors for remaining active, connected and engaged in the community.
“Organizations such as Flower City Friends Club play an important role in bringing seniors together and creating opportunities for friendship, recreation, cultural celebration and community participation,” she said. “Seeing so many seniors enjoying themselves, supporting one another and celebrating life together is wonderful. Our seniors have contributed tremendously to building our community, and they deserve to remain connected, respected and celebrated.”
She congratulated FCFC and its volunteers for their continued efforts to support seniors in Brampton.

Another highlight was the celebration of members whose birthdays fall during the month of October. Members gathered for a cheerful cake-cutting ceremony, with birthday wishes, applause and blessings from their FCFC family.
The occasion was particularly special for Surinder Panfer, who celebrated her milestone 75th birthday. She received special recognition from the City of Brampton as well as Flower City Friends Club, making her birthday celebration a memorable part of the afternoon.
Members enjoyed great food, music, dancing, Giddha, laughter and fellowship throughout the celebration. The event reflected FCFC’s philosophy that retirement and senior years should remain a period of active living, friendship and meaningful community involvement.

Flower City Friends Club continues to organize social, cultural, recreational, educational and health-related programs for seniors, including community celebrations, seminars, outings, bus trips and opportunities for members to showcase their talents.
The Club strives to reduce social isolation among seniors by providing a welcoming environment where members can meet regularly, make new friends, stay physically and socially active and celebrate important cultural and community occasions together.
Jaswinder Daind delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to Chief Guest Councillor Rowena Santos, performers, volunteers, executive members and all participating seniors for making the celebration successful.
She particularly thanked the volunteers who worked behind the scenes on planning, food arrangements, decorations, setup and coordination.

In his closing remarks, Gian Paul thanked all members for their enthusiastic participation and said the success of FCFC comes from the involvement and support of its members.
“Growing older should never mean growing away from happiness. Stay active, stay connected, keep smiling and keep loving life. That is the true spirit of Flower City Friends Club,” he said.
He invited members to mark their calendars for FCFC’s next major event on November 15, 2026, promising another enjoyable opportunity for members to come together and celebrate.
The colourful afternoon concluded with smiles, music and dancing—perfectly capturing the message of the day:
