• Interprovincial Drug Trafficking Probe Leads to Major Fentanyl Bust
Brampton — Police say a major drug-trafficking investigation has led to the seizure of approximately $2.3 million worth of suspected fentanyl from a home in Brampton, with authorities warning the drugs could have produced up to 180,000 potentially lethal doses.
According to Ontario Provincial Police, the investigation — known as Project Ollie — began in May 2025 after officers received information about a suspected drug trafficking network operating between Ontario and Alberta.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant on Feb. 10 at a residence on Albright Road in Brampton, where officers seized 18 kilograms of suspected fentanyl along with three cellphones.
Police estimate the drugs have a street value of about $2.3 million.
Charges Laid Against Three Suspects
Authorities have charged three individuals in connection with the case.
A 20-year-old Brampton resident has been charged with several offences, including drug trafficking, weapons-related charges and possession of property obtained by crime.
On the same day as the Brampton search, a 23-year-old suspect from Calgary was arrested in Winnipeg and charged with drug trafficking offences.
Another 21-year-old from Calgary was arrested on Feb. 24 in Calgary and also faces drug trafficking charges.
Canada-Wide Warrant Issued
Police have issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for another 21-year-old suspect from Calgary, who is wanted in connection with alleged drug and weapons trafficking offences.
Investigators say the case highlights the growing reach of interprovincial drug trafficking networks and the continued dangers posed by fentanyl, a highly potent synthetic opioid.
Police are asking anyone with information related to the investigation to contact authorities.
