Walmart Canada Enhances Wages and Benefits for Supply Chain and Retail Staff

Walmart Canada employees will soon see wage increases reflected in their paycheques. The company announced this week that it is allocating an additional $92 million for pay raises for eligible hourly associates in supply chain, frontline management, and retail positions.

Earlier this year, Walmart Canada had already invested $53 million to increase wages for store associates.

“As a people-led, tech-powered, omnichannel retailer, we’re proud to offer wages that are market competitive or better—and our benefit plans are some of the best in the Canadian market,” said AnnMarie Mercer, Chief People Officer at Walmart Canada. “Investing in our people is an ongoing and important part of making sure we continue to attract great associates who want to stay and grow with us.”

The wage increase comes on the heels of workers at Walmart’s Mississauga warehouse voting in favor of unionizing, marking the first such unionization for the company in Canada.

Walmart Canada associates are also eligible for an annual incentive bonus tied to company performance. Benefits include enhanced prescription drug coverage, health and dental plans, fertility treatment support, and mental health care. Employees have access to free and confidential 24/7 virtual care, employee assistance programs, and well-being initiatives through TELUS Health.

Additional perks include a 10% discount on groceries and general merchandise at Walmart stores and on Walmart.ca. Employees can also participate in a deferred profit-sharing retirement plan and a discounted stock purchase program.
