T&T Supermarket is set for another major expansion in 2026, including opening its largest Ontario location at North York’s Empress Walk Shopping Mall. The new store will replace the former Loblaws at 5090 Yonge St., which closed in late October. Loblaw Companies Ltd., which owns T&T, said the decision followed a review of how best to serve the neighbourhood, calling the popular Asian grocery chain “a great fit” for the community.
At 66,000 square feet, the North York store will become T&T’s biggest location in the province. The chain, now operating 38 stores across North America, plans to bring an extensive selection of fresh groceries, ready-made meals, and specialty Asian products to the area. Shoppers can expect a large T&T Kitchen offering Peking Duck, Papa Chicken, sushi, and barbecue items, along with street-food favourites like Chinese crepes and Taiwanese sticky rice rolls.
The new store, scheduled to open in fall 2026, will also feature T&T’s largest bakery section in Ontario, with more than 150 varieties of pastries and breads including Portuguese egg tarts, Hong Kong-style buns, and mango pomelo Swiss rolls. It will also house the biggest Asian beauty department in the province, carrying thousands of skincare, makeup, and wellness products sourced from across Asia.
T&T is also preparing to open two additional locations next year. Mississauga will gain its second store — a 40,000-square-foot site at the Erin Mills Power Centre on Vega Blvd., set to open in summer 2026. The company says the location, near Dundas Street West and Highway 403, is strategically placed to serve growing communities in both Mississauga and Oakville.
In British Columbia, a new T&T store will open in Burnaby in 2026, extending the brand’s footprint in Western Canada.
The openings continue T&T’s rapid growth as demand rises for Asian groceries, prepared foods, and international beauty products — making the chain an increasingly influential player in Canada’s grocery landscape.
