Brampton Announces Pride 2024 Events Starting in June

Intersex-inclusive redesign of the Progress Pride Flag

The City of Brampton is set to kick off its official Pride celebrations on Sunday, June 2, with an array of events and activities celebrating the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. The mainstage events in Garden Square will feature a diverse lineup of talent from across the region, including appearances by Canada’s Drag Race contestants Aurora Matrix and Jada Shada Hudson, and a headlining performance by Ontario-based R&B artist Witch Prophet. Attendees can also enjoy offerings from numerous local food vendors showcasing Brampton’s culinary delights.

“I am proud to celebrate Pride 2024 with an electrifying event that brings together Brampton’s vibrant 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Connect with local organizations and savor delicious offerings from our food partners as we come together to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and love,” said Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown in an official statement.

Pride 2024 festivities are not limited to the main event on June 2. The Brampton Arts Organization (BAO) will host a prelude event, “Crocheting Our Colours,” on May 30. This community engagement event will teach attendees introductory crochet and craft skills while fostering a sense of unity within the queer community.
