Brampton, ON – As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting the health and well-being of seniors, Flower City Friends Club (FCFC) is pleased to announce a special “Diabetes Among Seniors – Free Seminar” to be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Paul Palleschi Recreation Centre, Brampton, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The seminar is being organized under the Club’s “Health Matters – Senior Health & Wellness Forum”, an initiative designed to educate, empower, and support seniors in leading healthier and more active lives.
The educational session will be led by Neha Kaushal, Certified Diabetes Educator, who will provide valuable information on diabetes prevention, early detection, lifestyle management, healthy eating, physical activity, medication adherence, and practical tips for maintaining healthy blood sugar levels. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions and receive expert guidance on managing diabetes effectively.
Diabetes remains one of the fastest-growing health concerns among seniors, affecting their quality of life and increasing the risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, vision loss, and other serious complications. Through this seminar, Flower City Friends Club aims to create greater awareness and encourage seniors to take proactive steps toward healthier living.
In addition to the educational presentation, attendees will enjoy an afternoon of friendship, fun, delicious food, entertainment, games, and community interaction, making the event both informative and enjoyable. The Club believes that good health is achieved through education, active lifestyles, and strong social connections.
The event is open exclusively to Flower City Friends Club members. A nominal registration fee of $10 per member will cover refreshments, food, and entertainment. Seating is limited and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
The seminar carries the inspiring message:
“Knowledge is the Best Medicine for Diabetes.”
Flower City Friends Club extends its sincere appreciation to the City of Brampton for its continued support of programs that promote healthy aging and improve the quality of life for seniors in our community.
The Club encourages all members, especially those living with diabetes or at risk of developing the condition, to participate in this important health awareness initiative and gain practical knowledge that can contribute to a healthier and happier future.
