Peel Memorial’s Evolution into a New Hospital
A pivotal milestone in this journey is the transformation of Peel Memorial into Brampton’s new hospital, now advancing to the Request for Proposals (RFP) stage. This progress has been made possible through the collective efforts of Osler’s teams, our government partners, the Osler Foundation, and the unwavering support of our incredible community.
Innovating Through Research and Education
This fall, Osler launched the Osler Research Institute for Health Innovation (ORIHI)—a groundbreaking hub for advancing research, education, and innovative approaches to patient care. ORIHI represents our commitment to driving excellence and fostering innovation.
From the development of the new hospital at Peel Memorial and the launch of ORIHI to our journey toward becoming an Academic Health Centre and serving as the primary clinical partner for Toronto Metropolitan University’s new School of Medicine in Brampton, we are building a world-class health care system for the region.

Expanding State-of-the-Art Cancer Care
Cancer care is at the forefront of our efforts, as projections indicate that cancer cases in our region will double by 2038. Osler has made significant strides in enhancing cancer care services, including:
- In-house liquid biopsy testing—a first in Canada, offering rapid and personalized cancer diagnosis and treatment.
- The Lung Cancer Screening Program—the first of its kind in a Canadian community hospital.
- A partnership with the Princess Margaret Cancer Care Network, enriching clinical expertise, research, and education across Brampton, North Etobicoke, and surrounding areas.
Supporting Our Community’s Health
Osler encourages patients and families to utilize the appropriate care options for their needs and to prioritize vaccinations against flu, RSV, and COVID-19 to prevent severe illness and hospitalization.
