Travellers flying out of Toronto Pearson International Airport today are facing long security lineups, with some passengers waiting up to 90 minutes to clear security checkpoints.

According to Pearson Airport officials, the worst delays are occurring at Terminal 3 for international flights, though some security lineups are also affecting Terminal 1.

The delays are being blamed on staffing shortages at the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA), which is responsible for screening passengers and baggage.

Arrive Early: CATSA recommends arriving well in advance of your scheduled departure to avoid missing your flight.
Check Your Flight Status: Some flights are delayed or cancelled, so travellers should confirm their flight details before heading to the airport.
Stay Updated: Passengers can monitor real-time security wait times via the official Pearson Airport website.

“We appreciate your patience as we work to screen passengers as quickly as possible,” CATSA said in a statement on social media.

With security screening delays persisting, travellers should plan ahead to ensure a smoother departure experience.
