Among those in attendance were notable figures such as Jangir Sehmbi, President of the Association of Seniors, Gian Paul, Chairperson of the Flower City Friends Club (FCFC), Vikas Sharma, Jatinder Kaur from the Mukti Foundation, and Harchand Singh Bassi.
Addressing the assembled community leaders, MP Shafqat Ali spoke on the importance of unity among Canada’s diverse communities, emphasizing the shared values and principles that define the nation. “Canada’s strength lies in its diversity,” Ali stated. “We must remember that our values of inclusivity, respect, and tolerance are what make us strong. No one can break the bonds we have built here.” He further noted that incidents of division are often provoked by isolated forces and encouraged the leaders to work together to overcome these challenges.

Gian Paul, Chairperson of the Flower City Friends Club, spoke passionately about the need to identify and isolate those who seek to create division. “Forces behind these incidents must be identified and isolated. This has no place in our society or community,” he stated firmly. His words resonated with many in the room, emphasizing the shared responsibility to maintain peace and unity.
