Police Confirm Intimate Partner Violence in Deaths of Ontario Family

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have confirmed that the deaths of 41-year-old Carly Walsh and her children, 13-year-old Madison and 8-year-old Hunter, were the result of gunshot wounds in what they are describing as a case of intimate partner violence.

In a statement released on Saturday, the OPP disclosed the autopsy results of Carly Walsh and her children, who were found deceased in their home near Windsor, Ontario, last month. The statement also revealed that Carly’s husband and the children’s father, 42-year-old Steven Walsh, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The tragic incident came to light on June 20th, when police responded to a request to check on the well-being of someone at a residence in Harrow, southwestern Ontario. Upon arrival, officers discovered the bodies of four individuals.

A funeral service for Carly Walsh, Madison, and Hunter was held earlier this week, as reported by a local funeral home.

Sherry Bondy, the mayor of nearby Essex, commented on the devastating impact of the deaths on the community, describing it as a “huge impact” and a shocking tragedy.
