op Brampton City Salary Tops $381K, More Than 8 Times Local Average Income

BRAMPTON — Newly released public sector salary data shows the highest-paid employee at the City of Brampton earned more than eight times the average income of residents, highlighting ongoing discussions around public sector compensation.

According to Ontario’s annual “sunshine list,” Marlon Kallideen, the city’s Chief Administrative Officer, was once again the top earner in 2025 with a salary of $381,736.99, along with $24,866.17 in taxable benefits.

This marks a significant increase from his 2024 earnings and places his income at approximately 8.4 times higher than Brampton’s average income of about $45,400, based on Statistics Canada data.

The second-highest paid city employee was Alex Milojevic, Commissioner of Corporate Support Services, earning $334,579.53, followed by William Boyes, Commissioner of Community Services, with $282,431.59.

Both senior officials saw notable salary increases compared to the previous year, with Milojevic’s compensation rising by more than $70,000 and Boyes’ by approximately $19,000.

Meanwhile, Patrick Brown earned $154,248.94 in salary and $20,046.27 in benefits, significantly lower than the city’s top administrative officials.

The sunshine list, published annually by the Ontario government, includes all public sector employees earning $100,000 or more, offering transparency into taxpayer-funded salaries.

In previous years, the highest salaries in Brampton were sometimes attributed to former employees due to severance or contractual payouts. However, the 2025 data reflects current senior leadership at the top of the pay scale.

The figures are likely to fuel ongoing public debate around compensation in municipal government, particularly at a time when affordability and cost-of-living pressures remain a key concern for residents across Brampton.
