Newly Elected MP Amandeep Sodhi Receives Warm Community Welcome at Lakeland Village Park

Amandeep Sodhi, the newly elected Member of Parliament for Brampton Centre, received a heartfelt and enthusiastic welcome during her visit to Lakeland Village Park in the Southlake Boulevard area on Tuesday evening. Close to 100 residents, including seniors, youth, and families—men and women from all communities—gathered to meet and greet their new federal representative.

The event reflected the diversity and unity of the Brampton Centre riding, as residents from various cultural backgrounds came together with shared hopes and expectations. MP Sodhi listened attentively, engaging in thoughtful conversations and reaffirming her commitment to serve every resident of the riding. Also in attendance was Regional Councillor Paul Vicente (Wards 1 & 5), who praised the community’s spirit and pledged ongoing collaboration.

In her remarks, MP Amandeep Sodhi thanked the community for their trust and warm reception:
“I’m deeply touched by the warmth and support I’ve received today. I am here to listen, to learn, and to serve. Together, we will work to ensure Brampton Centre thrives—with better infrastructure, improved healthcare access, and stronger support for families, seniors, and youth,” said MP Sodhi. “Your voices matter, and I will carry them with me to Ottawa.”

The event opened with a welcome address by Professor Devinder Brar, a respected community leader, who said:
“Today, we are proud to welcome Amandeep Sodhi, a young and dynamic voice from our community, to this neighbourhood. Her commitment and humility give us great confidence that Brampton Centre will be strongly represented in Parliament.”

Councillor Paul Vicente highlighted the importance of intergovernmental cooperation, stating:
“It’s encouraging to see MP Amandeep Sodhi engaging directly with residents so early in her mandate. The City of Brampton and I look forward to working closely with her to address the pressing issues our residents face—from transit to safety to affordable housing.”

Residents took the opportunity to speak one-on-one with their new MP, raising local concerns and offering ideas for improving community services. MP Sodhi assured the gathering that her office will remain accessible and responsive to all.
