The Canada-East Africa Business Exchange Forum, held in Brampton on September 29-30, 2024, brought together Canadian and African leaders to discuss economic collaboration and investment opportunities. Maninder Sidhu, MP for Brampton East and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade, and Economic Development, played a key role in fostering these discussions.
Sidhu highlighted the growing importance of trade between Canada and Africa, underscoring how both regions can benefit from strengthened business ties. The forum addressed key sectors including infrastructure, agribusiness, technology, and sustainable development. Sidhu emphasized that ongoing collaboration will boost innovation, economic growth, and prosperity for both Canadian and African businesses.

In his remarks, Sidhu said, “The Canada-East Africa Business Exchange has reaffirmed the benefits of fostering connections between Canadian and African communities. This will create new opportunities that drive prosperity and innovation across borders.”
The event welcomed over 500 participants, including government officials, business leaders, and entrepreneurs, all of whom engaged in panel discussions and networking sessions designed to strengthen bilateral trade relations. Sidhu’s presence further demonstrated Canada’s commitment to growing its trade ties with Africa, reinforcing efforts that began with the Canada-Africa Business Conference held earlier this year.
This forum exemplifies Brampton’s role as a hub for international business and diplomacy, connecting Canadian and African enterprises with significant opportunities for investment and growth.
