Toronto police have charged a 29-year-old man after he allegedly posed as a surgeon and injected four women with substances they believed to be cosmetic treatments, including Botox, Salmon DNA, and Ozempic.
Allegations and Arrest
According to investigators, the man approached the women at a downtown Toronto dog park near Bay Street and Queens Quay. Claiming to be a surgeon at a local hospital, he offered cosmetic procedures at his home.
The man was arrested on Saturday and now faces seven counts of assault with a weapon and a common nuisance charge.
Questionable Injections
Police allege that the women visited the man’s home and received injections purported to be:
- Botox – for reducing wrinkles
- Salmon DNA – a skin rejuvenation treatment
- Ozempic – a diabetes medication often used off-label for weight loss
Suspicions arose when the women noticed unusual behavior and later discovered that the man was not qualified to perform such procedures. Authorities have not yet identified the substances used in the injections. Fortunately, none of the victims required hospitalization.
Potential for Additional Victims
Toronto police are continuing their investigation and believe there may be more victims. They urge anyone who may have been affected or has information to come forward.
Public Safety Reminder
Police are reminding residents to verify the credentials of individuals offering medical or cosmetic treatments and to seek services from licensed professionals only.
