The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has announced that the record-tying $80 million Lotto Max jackpot from Tuesday night’s draw will be shared by two winning ticket holders in Quebec and Alberta. This marks only the second time in Canadian history that the top Lotto Max prize has reached $80 million.
In addition to the historic jackpot, several million-dollar prizes were also claimed:
- Brampton, Hamilton, and Timmins: Winning $1 million tickets were sold in each city.
- Online Ticket: Another $1 million prize was won through an online ticket.
- Shared Prizes: Three tickets, each worth $333,333.40, were sold in Hamilton, Toronto, and Bowmanville.
A Lotto Max “Second Prize” ticket, valued at nearly $225,000, was purchased in Unionville, while an “Encore” prize worth $100,000 was won by a ticket holder in the Kawartha Lakes area.
Since Lotto Max’s inception in 2009, OLG reports that $8.8 billion in prizes have been awarded. With this week’s draw adding to the impressive tally, lottery fever continues to grip Canadians.
For those still hoping to strike it rich, Friday’s upcoming draw will carry a $33 million jackpot.
If you purchased a ticket for the latest draw, make sure to check it—prizes big and small are waiting to be claimed.
