Kapil Sharma Finally Speaks on Canada Café Shootings, Says ‘Every Time Shots Were Fired, Business Got Better’

Kapil Sharma has broken his silence on the repeated shooting incidents targeting his café in Canada, addressing the matter publicly during the trailer launch of his upcoming film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 in Mumbai. The actor-comedian revealed that his Vancouver restaurant has been fired upon three separate times, turning the situation into major news both in Canada and India.

Sharma said he believes the initial response from local authorities was limited due to policing rules in the region. “Maybe the police there don’t have enough power to control such things,” he said. “But when our case happened, it was taken up at the federal level. The matter was even discussed in the Canadian Parliament.”

He added that a number of people told him similar incidents had occurred at other businesses in the area but had not received the same level of attention. “When the firing happened at our café, it became big news,” Sharma noted, saying the spotlight pushed police and lawmakers to take stronger action on improving safety.

Reflecting on the bizarre aftermath of each incident, Sharma said, “Every time shots were fired there, our café ended up getting an even bigger opening afterwards. So, when God is with you, everything turns out fine.” He also praised the Mumbai Police, saying he has always felt safe in India and regards the city’s law enforcement as unmatched.

Reports indicate that Sharma’s café has been shot at nearly three times to date. Until now, the comedian had remained relatively quiet about the attacks, but he emphasized today that he hopes such incidents never recur — not to him, and not to anyone else.
