Jon Bon Jovi expressed uncertainty about his future touring plans following vocal cord surgery he underwent a few years ago.
In a recent interview with Mix 104.1 Boston, the iconic singer revealed that he is still in the process of recovering and cannot confirm whether he will embark on a tour for his band’s upcoming album, Forever.
“I don’t know about a tour,” he admitted. “It is my desire to do a tour next year, but I’m just still recovering from a major surgery.”
Bon Jovi underwent a procedure in 2022 to address issues with his vocal cords, describing one as “thick as the thumb” and the other as “thick as a pinky.” He expressed concern at the time that his ability to perform was diminishing.
“Although I’m well on the road to recovery and was able to take my time and do a song a day when I made the record, my need, want, desire is to be able to do two-and-a-half hours a night four nights a week for months on end,” Bon Jovi explained.
Despite his uncertain touring future, the band recently announced their 16th studio album, Forever, set for release on June 7. They also dropped the first single, “Legendary,” off the upcoming record.
Celebrating the album’s announcement on Instagram, Bon Jovi wrote, “Been waiting for this moment.”
