Health Canada has issued a product recall for a lot of cannabis gummies sold in Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan due to a packaging and labelling error.
The recall involves Real Fruit Mixed Berry CBD Gummies, produced by Wyld Canna Inc., which were mistakenly placed in incorrect packaging. As a result, the cannabinoid information displayed on the product labels does not accurately reflect the contents.
According to Health Canada, the labels on the affected gummies list a lower cannabidiol (CBD) content than what is actually present in the product. In addition, the labels do not include information about cannabigerol (CBG), another naturally occurring, non-intoxicating cannabinoid.
While CBG is not required to be labelled in the same way as CBD and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), Health Canada encourages licence holders to list all cannabinoids to help consumers make informed decisions.
The recall was initiated after Wyld Canna conducted an internal quality review. Approximately 900 units of the affected product were sold between Nov. 18 and Dec. 11 through authorized cannabis retailers in the four provinces.
Health Canada and Wyld Canna said they have not received any reports of complaints or adverse reactions related to the recalled lot as of Dec. 16.
Consumers who purchased the product are advised they can return or exchange it.
