Toronto — Ontario Premier Doug Ford is giving some fashion advice to Drake after the Toronto rapper turned heads at Game 1 of the World Series wearing a letterman jacket that paid tribute to Ford’s late brother, Rob Ford.
Drake, a lifelong Toronto Blue Jays supporter, was photographed in a Don Bosco Eagles varsity jacket with the name “R. Ford” stitched in gold — a nod to Rob Ford’s years as head coach of the Etobicoke high school’s football team.
When asked about the look, Premier Ford said he thought the jacket was “pretty cool” and suggested Drake take it one step further by turning it into a fashion line.
“He should do that clothing line — it would sell like crazy,” Ford said Tuesday. “It looked good on him.”
The jacket instantly sparked online buzz, with many Torontonians recognizing its connection to the former mayor’s time with the Don Bosco Eagles.
Drake paired the look with a custom CN Tower pendant, featuring a Blue Jay and Raptor scaling the landmark — a glittering tribute to Toronto’s sports pride.
Rob Ford coached the Don Bosco football team for more than a decade, often seen wearing a similar letterman jacket during his tenure.
Whether or not Drake takes Doug Ford’s advice remains to be seen, but if the Premier’s prediction is right, a Don Bosco-inspired fashion line could become Toronto’s next streetwear sensation.
