Culture, Connection, and Celebration Shine at TD’s South Asian Gala 2025

The 16th annual TD South Asian Gala brought a wave of colour, culture and community spirit to Brampton on November 15, drawing nearly 2,000 employees and leaders from across the bank. Hosted at the Embassy Grand Convention Centre, the evening celebrated South Asian heritage through storytelling, music, dance and cuisine—while also strengthening the sense of unity within one of Canada’s largest financial institutions.

Organized by the TD South Asian Employee Network, a volunteer-driven group with a three-decade legacy, the gala has become one of the Bank’s most anticipated annual events. This year’s celebration remained exclusive to TD staff, offering colleagues a relaxed and festive space to enjoy cultural traditions and connect beyond the workplace. Senior leadership, including CEO Raymond Chun and Sona Mehta, Group Head of Canadian Personal Banking, joined employees throughout the evening, underscoring TD’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

The Embassy Grand’s expansive ballroom set the backdrop for an evening filled with vibrant performances representing the artistic range of South Asia. Guests enjoyed classical dance numbers, energetic Bollywood routines, and musical pieces that reflected the region’s linguistic and cultural diversity. Each act contributed to an atmosphere of pride and joyful celebration.

Food played an equally memorable role. Attendees were treated to a rich spread inspired by flavours from across the subcontinent—traditional dishes, modern fusion selections, and decadent desserts, all celebrating the artistry and warmth of South Asian cuisine.

More than just entertainment, the gala offered a powerful opportunity for employees from various departments to connect informally. Conversations flowed easily as colleagues mingled, celebrated one another, and acknowledged the contributions of TD’s South Asian community. Leaders used the occasion to highlight how cultural inclusion strengthens the organization and creates a workplace where everyone can thrive.

As the night came to an end, the 16th edition of the gala stood as yet another testament to the Bank’s dedication to honouring cultural identity and fostering a workplace rooted in respect, diversity and togetherness. The TD South Asian Employee Network once again delivered a meaningful, memorable celebration—one that continues to deepen community bonds across the Bank year after year.
