City of Brampton Shares Back-to-School Traffic Safety Tips and Reminders

As the new school year approaches, the City of Brampton is urging residents to prioritize road safety, especially in school zones. With increased pedestrian traffic around schools, the city emphasizes the importance of vigilance and adherence to safety measures to ensure a safe start for students, parents, and staff.

Key safety tips include slowing down in school zones, obeying school crossing guards, and considering walking or biking to school. The City has implemented various traffic calming measures, such as Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) cameras and Community Safety Zones, to enhance safety around schools.

Brampton’s School Traffic Safety Council encourages residents to get involved in promoting road safety, and the City is also seeking dedicated individuals to join its team of School Crossing Guards. Additionally, the City reminds drivers to keep sidewalks clear and accessible for everyone, including children, the elderly, and those with disabilities.

With the expansion of the ASE camera program and the establishment of Community Safety Zones, Brampton continues to lead in creating safer streets for all. Residents are encouraged to visit the City’s website for more information on these initiatives and additional school road safety resources.
