A brand-new cricket field is now open in Brampton, giving young players a fresh space to play, train, and grow their skills—just in time for summer league registration.
The City of Brampton officially opened the new youth cricket pitch at Allan Kerbel Park on Monday, part of its ongoing efforts to grow the sport locally and solidify its status as “the cricket capital of Canada.” The new naturalized field was unveiled by Mayor Patrick Brown alongside Councillors Rowena Santos and Paul Vicente.
“This new pitch offers young players a dedicated space to sharpen their skills, stay active, and enjoy the outdoors,” the city said in a statement. “This milestone reflects our commitment to expanding cricket amenities and promoting healthy, active lifestyles for youth.”
In addition to the new facility, Brampton’s popular Youth Cricket League is back for another season and now open for summer registration. Following the success of its expanded spring session, the league continues to grow with three age categories: under 9, under 12, and under 15. The program is open to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced players.
Registration includes a full player kit with a jersey and pants. The summer season runs from July 7 through late August, with games held at either Blue Oak Park or Country Court Park.
