Brampton Tow Truck Shooting: One Suspect Nabbed, Another on the Run

A violent clash between tow truck companies in Brampton last October has led to the arrest of one suspect, while police continue their hunt for a second man linked to the shooting. Peel Regional Police revealed that the incident, which unfolded on October 15, 2024, in a parking lot near Bovaird Drive and Mountainash Road, east of Torbram Road, left one person injured and hospitalized.

The altercation, described by police as a “physical confrontation” between rival tow truck businesses, escalated into gunfire, sending one individual to the hospital with minor injuries. After a months-long investigation, authorities announced on Tuesday that they had identified two suspects involved in the shooting. Sarbjit Singh, a 33-year-old Brampton resident, was arrested on March 12, 2025, and now faces charges of discharging a firearm and assault with a weapon. He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Meanwhile, a warrant has been issued for 25-year-old Jobanjit Singh, also of Brampton, who remains at large. He is wanted for attempted murder and unauthorized possession of a firearm. Police have released photos of Jobanjit Singh, urging him to seek legal counsel and surrender. They are also appealing to the public for help, asking anyone with information to contact the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-2121 ext. 2133 or to provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or peelcrimestoppers.ca.

The shooting highlights ongoing tensions within the tow truck industry in the Greater Toronto Area, where disputes have increasingly turned violent, prompting heightened police scrutiny. As the search for Jobanjit Singh continues, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the risks tied to such conflicts in Brampton’s commercial landscape.
