Brampton shooting on Thursday night leaves 1 dead: Peel police

A fatal shooting in Brampton on Thursday evening has prompted a major police investigation after one person was killed in a residential neighbourhood near Sandalwood Parkway and Crown Victoria Drive.

Peel Regional Police responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 7:10 p.m. on June 4. Upon arriving at the scene, officers located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

Despite emergency response efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Peel Paramedics confirmed that emergency crews attended the incident but were unable to save the individual.

Police have not yet released the victim’s identity, age, or gender, pending notification of next of kin and further investigation.

Authorities indicated that the suspect or suspects had fled the area before officers arrived. A significant police presence remained in the neighbourhood throughout the evening as investigators secured the scene, collected evidence, and canvassed the area for witnesses and surveillance footage.
