Get ready for sun-soaked dining and lively evenings—Brampton’s patio season is just around the corner! Starting Monday, March 3, the City will open applications for 2025 Temporary Seasonal Patio Permits, inviting local restaurants, bars, and cafés to expand their outdoor offerings.
Temporary seasonal patios let businesses create inviting outdoor spaces during the warmer months, boosting seating capacity and enhancing the dining experience for patrons. These setups bring energy to Brampton’s streets, turning meals into memories and supporting the local vibe.
What’s New for 2025
This year, the City has revamped the application process, slashing review times to get patios up and running faster. With a valid permit, businesses can operate outdoor spaces from April 5 to October 25, 2025, closing nightly at 11 p.m. All patio structures must be dismantled by November 1, 2025.
Now in its sixth year, the Temporary Patio Expansion Program continues to fuel economic growth and community spirit. Since its launch, nearly 90 businesses have joined in, sparking jobs and prosperity across Brampton.
How to Apply
Eligible businesses can apply online with the following requirements:
- A valid City of Brampton business licence as a restaurant, café, or bar.

- Written consent from neighbouring property owners or tenants if using adjacent space.
- Approval from the landlord, property owner, or manager.
- Notification to nearby businesses and residents about the patio and any liquor sales.
