Brampton Equips Youth for Success with Free Workshops, Summer Jobs, and Entrepreneurial Programs

The City of Brampton is empowering youth with essential career skills and entrepreneurial opportunities through initiatives designed to foster growth, leadership, and innovation. Recognizing the importance of developing a skilled workforce in today’s challenging economic climate, the City is prioritizing local employment opportunities and youth-focused programs to build a resilient and thriving economy.

Free Employment Workshops and Summer Jobs

To prepare youth for meaningful roles, the City is offering free employment readiness workshops ahead of its summer job recruitment drive. These sessions aim to equip participants with enhanced resumes, interview skills, and insights into the application process. Positions available this summer include camp leaders, inclusion instructors, and outdoor aquatics roles.

Workshop Schedule:

  • Saturday, January 11, 2025: 9:30–11:30 am and 12–2 pm, Cassie Campbell Community Centre
  • Tuesday, January 14, 2025: 6:30–8:30 pm, Susan Fennel Youth Hub
  • Saturday, January 18, 2025: 9:30–11:30 am and 12–2 pm, Gore Meadows Community Centre

2025 Summer Company Program for Young Entrepreneurs

In partnership with the Ontario government, the Summer Company Program offers youth aged 15–29 the chance to launch and run their own businesses during the summer. Participants receive grants of up to $3,000, along with hands-on mentoring from business leaders. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2025, with free virtual information sessions scheduled on:

  • Wednesday, February 12, 2025: 5–6 pm
  • Wednesday, March 12, 2025: 5–6 pm
