Saif Ali Khan Undergoes Surgery Following Midnight Intrusion
Popular Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is recovering in Lilavati Hospital after sustaining multiple stab wounds during a late-night attack at his Mumbai residence.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday in an upscale Mumbai neighborhood where the actor resides with his family. According to Mumbai police, an unidentified intruder broke into Khan’s home, leading to a violent altercation.
In a brief statement to BBC Marathi, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam said, “An unknown person entered the house of the actor. After that, an argument broke out between him and the intruder.”
Hospital officials revealed that Khan suffered six stab injuries, with two deep wounds—one dangerously close to his spine. Niraj Uttamani, Chief Operating Officer of Lilavati Hospital, confirmed that a team of specialists is performing surgery.
Khan’s family has not yet issued a public statement. However, his publicity team described the incident as an “attempted burglary” and appealed for privacy. “We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter. We will keep you updated on the situation,” the statement read.
The Mumbai police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the intruder.
