A group of 15 Indian nationals, including 11 from Punjab, has been deported from Australia, drawing renewed attention to immigration compliance, legal risks abroad, and the growing influence of fraudulent travel networks.
According to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the deportees also include individuals from Telangana, Haryana, and Uttarakhand. State authorities in Punjab have stepped in to receive and assist those returning, with arrangements made at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi to support their reintegration.
Initial reports indicate that several deportees have already arrived in India and were handed over to Punjab Police for further processing. Authorities are working to verify addresses and coordinate their return to respective districts, many of which include regions such as Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Moga, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, and Ferozepur.

Mann warned that many individuals fall victim to misleading promises of easy settlement abroad, often leading to legal complications and eventual deportation.
