Arrest Made in Connection with Summer Shooting in Brampton

Peel Regional Police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting incident that occurred earlier this summer in Brampton, leaving multiple victims with non-life-threatening injuries. The shooting took place on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, near Gardenbrooke Trail and Castlemore Road.

According to police, the suspect allegedly fired multiple shots at the victims during an altercation, resulting in serious injuries. Fortunately, the victims’ injuries were not life-threatening.

On Monday, October 7, 2024, 24-year-old Rahul Sahota of Brampton was arrested and is now facing a series of serious charges, including:

  • Discharge Firearm with Intent
  • Attempted Murder (x2)
  • Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

Sahota was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
