Health Canada has issued recalls for a range of products, from food items to fitness equipment and baby walkers.

Frozen Waffles and Pancakes Recall Due to Listeria Contamination

A recall has been issued for several brands of frozen waffles and pancakes due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The affected products include multiple batches from brands such as 365 Whole Foods Market, Compliments, Duncan Hines, President’s Choice, and others. The recall covers various flavors and types, including gluten-free and buttermilk options.

The recall impacts the following products:

  • 365 Whole Foods Market (210 g): Organic Homestyle and Blueberry Waffles (Best Before: Oct 01, 2024 to Oct 11, 2025)
  • Compliments: Gluten-Free Blueberry-Flavored Waffles, Jumbleberry Belgian Waffles, and more
  • Duncan Hines: Round Waffles, Toaster Waffles, Buttermilk Pancakes, etc.

Residents are advised to dispose of these products if they have them and seek medical advice if symptoms of Listeria infection develop. Although no illnesses have been reported so far, Listeria can cause severe complications, particularly for vulnerable groups such as pregnant women and the elderly.

Haribo Gummy Candy Recall Over Potential Wood Contamination

Haribo’s Tangfastics Gummy Candies in 175 g packages have been recalled due to the potential presence of wood pieces. The recall includes batches with the code L3614001964877 and UPC 0 12035 93060 8, with a best-before date of June 25, 2025. Consumers are urged not to consume these candies and to discard them to prevent any risk of injury.

PowerBlock Dumbbells Recall Over Impact Injury Risk

PowerBlock has recalled its Commercial Pro 100 adjustable dumbbells with 5 lb grip handles due to a potential impact injury hazard when using weights over 55 lbs. Affected products were sold between March 2023 and August 2024. Customers are advised to stop using these dumbbells immediately and contact the company for replacement parts. No injuries have been reported in Canada, but the United States saw four incidents without injuries.

Baby Walkers on eBay.ca Recalled for Safety Violations

Various baby walkers sold on eBay.ca have been recalled as they pose serious safety risks. These products, which include models with multiple wheels and musical functions, do not meet Canadian safety standards and are banned in the country due to the high risk of falls and injuries. Approximately 20 units of the recalled items were sold in Canada. Consumers are advised to dispose of the products immediately.
