98-Year-Old Sardar Partap Singh Panfer Honoured as Members Enjoy Nature, Fellowship, Entertainment and Wellness Activities
ERAMOSA, ONTARIO, June 21, 2026 – More than 100 members of Flower City Friends Club (FCFC) celebrated Father’s Day and International Yoga Day with a memorable and wellness-focused excursion to the picturesque Rockwood Conservation Area in Eramosa, near Guelph. Travelling from Brampton in two buses, members enjoyed a day filled with health and wellness activities, fellowship, entertainment, delicious food, and appreciation for fathers and seniors.
Upon arrival, members were warmly welcomed by Gian Paul, Chairperson of Flower City Friends Club, who spoke about the importance of celebrating Father’s Day and organizing activities that promote healthy aging, active living, friendship, and social connections among seniors and families.

“Father’s Day is an opportunity to honour the love, sacrifices, wisdom, and guidance of fathers and grandfathers. Such outings strengthen friendships, reduce social isolation, and encourage healthy and active living. It is fitting that Father’s Day and International Yoga Day are being celebrated together, reminding us of the importance of family values, gratitude, physical wellness, and peace of mind,” said Gian Paul.
The day commenced with words of gratitude and reflection on family values, respect for parents, and the importance of leading a healthy and positive lifestyle.
Nestled amid limestone cliffs, caves, scenic walking trails, sandy beaches, and the beautiful Eramosa River, Rockwood Conservation Area provided the perfect setting for the celebration. Members enjoyed leisurely walks along the trails, relaxed on the beach, and appreciated the clear blue skies and beautiful weather.
One of the major highlights of the event was the celebration of International Yoga Day with a special “Yoga on the Beach” session led by Anuja Kabuli, Certified Yoga Instructor. Members were educated on the importance of healthy living and enthusiastically participated in yoga, stretching exercises, breathing techniques, and meditation activities designed to improve flexibility, balance, and overall physical and mental well-being.
Flower City Friends Club continues to promote healthy aging, physical fitness, mental wellness, and social engagement through regular programs and community activities that enhance the quality of life of seniors and families.
One of the most touching moments of the day was the recognition of 98-year-old Sardar Partap Singh Panfer, who attended the celebration with his family members. Members gave him a standing ovation and warmly applauded his inspiring life and active spirit. His presence beautifully reflected the values of family, gratitude, and respect associated with Father’s Day.
All fathers present at the event were recognized and greeted with warm wishes and appreciation for their invaluable contribution to families and society.

The event was filled with fun and entertainment, with members enjoying music, dancing, laughter, and excellent food. The beach sand, fresh air, scenic surroundings, and pleasant weather added to the excitement and enjoyment of the day.
Kamal Babra and Jyoti served as Masters of Ceremonies and kept members engaged with their lively and entertaining presentations.
Jaswinder Kaur Daind, President of Flower City Friends Club, personally ensured that all members were comfortable and well cared for throughout the outing.
“Our members are one family. Their happiness, health, and well-being remain our highest priorities. It was heartwarming to see everyone enjoying themselves and celebrating together in such a beautiful environment. These moments create lifelong memories and strengthen our bonds as a community,” said Jaswinder Kaur Daind.
Members celebrating birthdays in the month of June were also recognized, and group photographs and family pictures were taken to preserve the memories of this wonderful occasion.
The Chairperson acknowledged the contributions of volunteers and members whose efforts made the event a tremendous success.

At the conclusion of the celebration, Gian Paul expressed gratitude to members, volunteers, and organizers for making the outing a resounding success.
