Oakville Jewelry Store Robbed at Gunpoint; Suspect Still on the Run

A quiet morning in Oakville turned tense after a daring gunpoint robbery at a local jewelry store left employees shaken and police searching for the suspect. According to the Halton Regional Police Service, the incident took place on May 14 at around 10 a.m. outside National Jewellers on Lakeshore Road West.

Investigators say an employee was opening the store when a lone masked man approached while allegedly carrying a handgun. The suspect forced the employee to unlock the business before stealing an undisclosed quantity of cash and jewelry. Although the employee was not physically injured, police say the suspect tied the worker’s hands before escaping the area on foot.

Police later recovered what is believed to be a black BB gun at the scene. The suspect was reportedly dressed in a black hoodie, beige pants, gloves, black running shoes, and a baseball cap, while carrying a backpack.

Authorities are continuing their investigation and are appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone with information is being urged to contact Halton police or anonymously reach out to Crime Stoppers.
