Toronto is expecting a warm and busy Victoria Day long weekend, with temperatures reaching about 27°C according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Ontario’s updated retail holiday rules now allow many malls and retail stores to remain open on Victoria Day.

Victoria Day Fireworks in Toronto

The City of Toronto’s main fireworks celebration will take place at:

Ashbridges Bay Park

  • Fireworks begin at 10:00 PM
  • Best viewing areas are along the waterfront and beach areas nearby

The city strongly recommends using public transit because parking and traffic are expected to be extremely busy.

Residents are also allowed to set off fireworks on private property before 11 p.m. on Victoria Day, following city bylaws.

Line 6 Finch West

The line will be closed throughout the long weekend:

  • Closure begins Friday at 2:30 a.m.
  • Reopens Tuesday at 4:00 a.m.
  • Shuttle buses will replace train service along Finch Avenue West

Officials say the work is connected to upgrades and preparations for increased ridership ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
