Brampton’s Charity Golf Tournament Returns for Third Year Supporting Local Community Organizations

The annual tournament, which has quickly become one of Brampton’s signature charitable sporting events, has already raised more than $630,000 for local charities and community organizations since launching in 2024.

The 2026 tournament will take place at Lionhead Golf Club and Conference Centre, one of the region’s premier public golf destinations known for its scenic and challenging course suitable for players of all skill levels.

This year’s event is expected to continue building on the success of previous tournaments, which raised approximately $300,000 in 2024 and more than $330,000 in 2025 in support of organizations serving residents across Brampton.

Participants will enjoy a full day of golf, networking and community engagement while supporting local initiatives focused on improving quality of life and strengthening the community.

Funds raised through the 2026 tournament will support several organizations selected through City Council ward partnerships, including Royal Canadian Legion Branch 15, Brampton Sports Alliance, Heartlake United Church, 8th Brampton Scouts, Sukmani Haven, Laadliyan, Ste Louise Outreach and the Ladies Auxiliary of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 15.

The tournament also continues to support the Mayor’s Sports Fund, an initiative designed to reduce financial barriers and expand access to sports and recreation opportunities for youth throughout Brampton.

Mayor Patrick Brown said the event has become a symbol of Brampton’s generosity and commitment to supporting meaningful local causes.

“Brampton’s Charity Golf Tournament has become an important tradition highlighting the generosity and spirit of Brampton residents. Each year, we see strong support for organizations delivering meaningful impact across our city. I look forward to another great day on the course supporting these meaningful causes,” said Mayor Brown.

Rowena Santos, Regional Councillor for Wards 1 and 5, said the tournament demonstrates how sports and community partnerships can create a positive impact across the city.

“This tournament continues to showcase the caring and giving spirit of Brampton. It brings together community leaders, businesses, athletes and residents for a common purpose — supporting organizations that are making a real difference in people’s lives. Events like this strengthen our community while also encouraging healthy and active living,” said Santos.

Santos added that the tournament’s continued growth reflects the strong support residents have for local charities and youth programs.

“It is inspiring to see how this event continues to grow year after year. The funds raised help support important organizations and initiatives that improve opportunities for youth, families, seniors and vulnerable residents throughout Brampton,” she added.

Past editions of the tournament have also attracted participation from several well-known Canadian sports personalities, including Ernie Whitt, Doug Gilmour, Darcy Tucker, Wendel Clark and Canadian soccer legend Atiba Hutchinson.
