Flower City Friends Club Brings Seniors Together for Health & Retirement Awareness Seminar

Brampton, May 12, 2026 — The Flower City Friends Club successfully organized a highly informative and engaging seniors’ health and wellness seminar on May 12, 2026, at the Paul Palleschi Recreation Centre in association with Bramalea Retirement Residence and DK Rehab. Close to 100 members of the club enthusiastically participated in the seminar, which focused on senior living, wellness, healthcare awareness, mobility, and healthy aging.

The seminar commenced with opening remarks by Gian Paul, Chairperson of Flower City Friends Club, who warmly welcomed all members, guests, and presenters. He thanked the management teams of Bramalea Retirement Residence and DK Rehab for conducting such meaningful and educational sessions for seniors and appreciated the excellent participation and enthusiasm shown by club members.

The first session was conducted by Ms. Ines Devic, Manager of Bramalea Retirement Residence, along with Harpreet Binning, who delivered a detailed presentation regarding the services, facilities, care programs, and lifestyle opportunities available at the retirement residence. The presentation highlighted independent living options, assisted living support, wellness programs, dining services, healthcare assistance, recreational activities, and safety measures available for seniors.

The presenters also explained the financial aspects and costs associated with retirement residence living, helping members gain a better understanding of available options and future planning for senior care.

Bramalea Retirement Residence was recognized as a professionally managed retirement community dedicated to providing seniors with a safe, caring, and comfortable environment. The residence offers personalized support services, social engagement opportunities, nutritious meals, wellness programs, and compassionate care tailored to the needs of elderly residents.

At the conclusion of the presentation, Ms. Ines Devic conducted an interactive question-and-answer session during which members openly discussed concerns related to senior care, retirement living, and available support services.

Senior member Gursharan Khera appreciated the initiative and stated that such seminars are extremely beneficial for seniors and their families as they provide valuable knowledge, guidance, and awareness regarding healthcare and future living arrangements.

The second half of the seminar featured an energetic and educational physiotherapy and wellness session conducted by Udey from DK Rehab. DK Rehab is a rehabilitation and physiotherapy service provider focused on improving mobility, flexibility, pain management, physical strength, and overall wellness, particularly for seniors and individuals recovering from injuries or mobility challenges.

During the session, Udey educated members about the importance of regular physical activity, stretching routines, posture correction, balance management, and strengthening exercises for seniors. He explained how proper exercises can help prevent falls, reduce stiffness, improve flexibility, and support independent and healthy living.

Members actively participated in a variety of stretching and strengthening exercises demonstrated during the workshop and showed great enthusiasm throughout the practical session.

A special message from Amandeep Sodhi was also shared during the seminar. She appreciated the continuous efforts of Flower City Friends Club in promoting senior wellness, awareness, and social inclusion within the community. She also acknowledged the valuable services being provided by Bramalea Retirement Residence and DK Rehab for seniors in Brampton.
