Five Arrested After Police Recover $2 Million Stolen Cannabis Shipment in Mississauga

Five men are facing multiple charges after police recovered a stolen trailer loaded with cannabis products valued at more than $2 million in Mississauga earlier this month.

According to York Regional Police, the trailer had been stolen from the Niagara Region and was en route to several cannabis dispensaries when it was intercepted. Officers located the vehicle near McLaughlin Road and Highway 401 on April 15.

Police say they soon identified and arrested a group of individuals believed to be connected to the theft. During the arrests, officers also seized two firearms.

Authorities identified the accused as Manveer Singh, Sarbjeet Singh, Dilkhab Singh, Karan Kumar and Jaiskavan Malhi. Police said four of the suspects are from Brampton, while one is from Hamilton.

The group is facing a total of 33 charges related to theft and firearms offences.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims linked to the stolen shipment and are urging anyone with information to come forward or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.

The case highlights ongoing concerns around organized theft in the cannabis supply chain, particularly as high-value shipments move between producers and retail outlets across Ontario.
