Mississauga Mayor, Councillors Near Six-Figure Salaries in 2025

A new report shows elected officials in Mississauga are approaching — and in some cases exceeding — six-figure salaries, with councillor pay expected to cross $100,000 in 2026.

Most city councillors earned $99,246.92 in 2025, along with benefits typically ranging between $23,000 and $28,000. This marks a steady increase from previous years and positions them just below the six-figure threshold in base salary alone.

In addition to their city earnings, councillors also receive approximately $63,000 annually for their roles at the Region of Peel, significantly boosting total compensation.

Deputy mayors Matt Mahoney and John Kovac have already surpassed the $100,000 mark, earning $113,969.19 and $111,874.47 respectively in 2025. Meanwhile, Sue McFadden reported a lower salary of $89,375.25 after taking a temporary leave to run in the federal election.

Mayor Carolyn Parrish received a city salary of $156,170.67, plus benefits, alongside additional income through her regional council role.

The figures were released as part of the city’s annual public disclosure, required under Ontario law, detailing compensation and expenses for elected officials.
